After being relegated to the role of non-squad player at his German club, recent impressive performances from Hoffenheim defensive midfielder Diadie Samassekou at the Africa Cup of Nations may lead to - at the very least - a fresh lon-out for the Malian international. Germany's Kicker Magazine reports that 18th-placed La Liga side Cadiz FC are interested in the 28-year-old.

Hoffenheim have a little more time to finalize a loan-out for Samassekou as the transfer window in Spain closes six hours later than in Germany. The main point of contention remains the player's salary. A reported €2.7 million annual stipend would have to be re-negotiated before any transaction is sealed. Samassekou's current TSG deal runs through 2025.
