Führich pens new Stuttgart deal

VfB Stuttgart confirmed a contract extension for winger Chris Führich early Thursday afternoon. The 26-year-old's new contract runs through 2028.
Chris Führich is the latest footballer active for 2023/24 Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart to be richly rewarded with a new contract extension. After rumors that a new deal was imminent began cropping up over the weekend, Führich officially extended his working papers in Swabia through 2028 on Thursday.

In the midst of a highly successful season, Führich has scored five goals for his club this year. The 26-year-old received his first call-up to the German national team this past October. The versatile attacker's estimated market worth shot up from €4 million to €17 million in the last six months.

"Chris Führich is one of our most important players," VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth noted in a club released statement, "He trains and plays consistently at a very high level, and his call-up to the national team was confirmation of the performances he has shown in a VfB shirt."

"I feel very much at home here in Stuttgart," Führich himself added, "The club, our fans and the arena are something very special. It's pure tradition, which you can feel at everygame. It's simply a lot of fun to be a player at this club."
