A pair of top flight German footballing professionals will have to sit out two league fixtures for their respective clubs after being handed red cards in their weekend fixtures. SC Freiburg midfielder Merlin Röhl - sent off in the 18th minute of his team's 1-3 loss to Stuttgart - will be ineligible to play in Freiburg's upcoming matches against Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt.

FCU skipper Christopher Trimmel - who saw red in his team's 0-2 loss to Leipzig - shall miss both this Wednesday's makeup fixture against Mainz and Saturday's game against Wolfsburg. Röhl remains eligible for Freiburg's upcoming Europa League knockout round tie against RC Lens. Neither club lodged any objections to rulings issued by the DFB's disciplinary arm.
