Ahead of his side's Bundesliga clash with Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel had mixed news to report on the injury front.

He confirmed that Alphonso Davies will miss the game due to the injury he picked up against Gladbach, while Manuel Neuer is a big doubt after struggling with a knee problem this week.

"Alphonso Davies is out. He hasn't been able to train with us. Manuel Neuer will take part in the goalkeeper training today. He'll have time before tomorrow afternoon and then we'll decide whether he or Sven Ulreich will play," Tuchel told reporters.

Long-term absentees Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry, Konrad Laimer, Daniel Peretz and Bouna Sarr are all definitely out.

On the positive side for Bayern, Joshua Kimmich, Kim Min-Jae and Dayot Upamecano are all expected to return to the squad. Kimmich and Upamecano have been fighting their way back from injury, while Kim has returned from international duty.

"Joshua, Min-jae and Upa are back in training. We have one more session today. If nothing happens, they will all be in the squad tomorrow," confirmed Tuchel.

As for their chances of making the starting line-up, the Bayern coach was coy, but he made it clear that both Kimmich and Upamecano are fully fit after their spell on the sidelines.

"The signal is clear. You don't need a signal from Josh. He's always ready. He's extraordinary in his attitude. Upa is similar, has enjoyed excellent development in his mentality. They've both gone through the full rehab process. If nothing extraordinary happens, they'll be ready."

Bayern go into the game two points behind Leverkusen at the top of the Bundesliga table.
