Bayern Munich could have leapfrogged Bayer Leverkusen to the top of the Bundesliga with a win at the BayArena on Saturday, but instead suffered a crushing 3-0 defeat.

The defeat will undoubtedly lead to criticism of Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel, but Thomas Müller believes the focus should be on the players.

"Of course there are some symptoms on the pitch. To be honest, I'm pissed off. To quote Oliver Kahn: What I miss from us players is the balls in the game," Muller told Sky Deutschland.

"We are showing much better approaches in training. It's okay to feel pressure, but there has to be energy and freedom. That's missing from our game.

"Sometimes we have to talk about us players. It's not just about the coach. We have a lot of international players at the highest level, we need to improve our game."
