The RB Leipzig camp lamented their lack of clinicality after Tuesday's loss to Real Madrid.

RB Leipzig were left to rue missed chances after losing 1-0 at home to Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday night.

Die Roten Bullen created plenty of chances against the Spanish giants, but were unable to convert them into goals as Brahim Diaz's strike proved to be the difference.

"My team were courageous. We implemented a lot of things we set out to do well, such as doubling up on Vinícius. After the break we conceded a dream goal after we left him a little too much space. You have to accept a goal like that. We had good chances after it and could have been more clinical," said RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose, according to UEFA.com.

Dani Olmo spoke in the same vein, saying that Leipzig weren't happy with the result because of the number of chances they missed.

"Real Madrid are one of the best teams in Europe; you have to make the most of your chances against opponents like that," he stressed.
