VfB Stuttgart slipped in the race for European places as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by relegation-threatened FC Köln on Saturday.

Enzo Millot deservedly gave Stuttgart the lead early in the second half, but the home side then took their foot off the gas and eventually had to settle for a draw after Eric Martel's equaliser.

"Up until the 1-0 goal, we were clearly the better team, we dominated the game, but we didn't score any goals," analyzed an angry Angelo Stiller after the match.

The Stuttgart midfielder added that he felt the Swabians were "arrogant, sleepy and slow" after Milot's opener.

Captain Waldemar Anton didn't mince his words either.

"If you want to play in Europe, you have to win games like this," he said.

"We should have killed the game off."

Stuttgart are currently third in the Bundesliga table.
