Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel struggled to explain exactly what went wrong as his team went down 0-2 to Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

"Overall, the game wasn't played at a high level. It was an average game. Unfortunately, we adapted to that. From the lack of pace to the lack of passion. It's hard to explain," Tuchel told Sky Germany.

Bayern had shown great improvement before the international break but, much to Tuchel's frustration, suffered another setback in Saturday's game.

"We thought in the last few weeks that we wouldn't get to the point where we would give away a game like that. We had something completely different in mind, but we just didn't manage it."

With Bayern now 13 points behind Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the table, Tuchel conceded that the title race is over.

"Yes, definitely. Congratulations to Leverkusen," the Bayern coach said.
