RB Leipzig midfielder Diego Demme reveals he considered leaving RB Leipzig in the summer after losing his spot as a regular starter towards the end of last season.

"I briefly considered whether I should continue my path somewhere else," Demme said in an interview with Kicker.

However, ultimately, Julian Nagelsmann convinced Demme to stay after his arrival as RB Leipzig coach.

"The first talks with him and sporting director Markus Krösche gave me a good feeling. They assured me that I was needed and that I was part of their plans. They convinced me to stay here," Demme said.

The 27-year-old would still like to play abroad in the future, though.

"Italy, Spain... I definitely want to go in that direction at some point," he said.

Demme has made seven appearances for RB Leipzig this season until now.
