Official: Vedad Ibisevic signs for Schalke 04

Vedad Ibisevic has put pen to paper on a one-year contract with Schalke 04.
Schalke 04 have completed the signing of former Hertha BSC striker Vedad Ibisevic on a one-year deal.

The 36-year-old joins Schalke as a free agent after his contract with Hertha expired at the end of last season.

"Vedad will truly enrich our squad. He's an experienced attacking player, dangerous in front of goal and still passionate about every Bundesliga game," said Schalke head of sport Jochen Schneider.

"Vedad won us over with his attitude in our talks. He simply wants to continue playing football at the highest level, and his qualities are undisputed. We are looking forward to working together," he added.

Ibisevic commented:

"Schalke are a really cool club, so I didn't have to think twice about this. I'm highly motivated and want to be successful with the team. I want to do my part with my experience and quality."

The Bosnian veteran made a total of 159 appearances for Hertha with 56 goals and 22 assists to his name.
