Germany's Bild Zeitung, footballing magazine Kicker, website Sportbuzzer, and Transfermarkt.de all report that a stalled deal to bring right fullback Ridle Baku to Wolfsburg has been completed.

Sources are split as to what the final transfer fee shall be. Sportbuzzer reports that the Wolves were able to talk rattled Mainz down from their €10 million asking price while Bild reports that Germany's green company team gave in and dug deep into their cash reserves.

In any event, the 22-year-old German international can expect to play immediately for his new team. Long-term injuries to Kevin Mbabu and William Furtado have left coach Oliver Glasner without a natural right back.

The move away from his hometown club constitutes a great opportunity for the 22-year-old. Baku's play has steadily improved since he broke through for the Nullfünfter and he is widely considered one of Germany's emerging talents. Baku last played for Germany on the international with Stefan Kuntz's U21 side in 2019.
