Schalke coach Manuel Baum confirms Ralf Fährmann will stay in goal despite Rønnow's arrival

Ralf Fährmann will stay in goal for Schalke 04 against RB Leipzig despite the arrival of Frederik Rønnow on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt.

New Schalke 04 coach Manuel Baum has confirmed that Ralf Fährmann will be in goal against RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Having joined Schalke from Frankfurt on loan earlier this week, Frederik Rønnow will be on the bench this time around.

"Ralf Fährmann will be in goal against Leipzig. I discussed that with him on Thursday," said Baum at the pre-match press conference.

Baum recently replaced David Wagner, who was dismissed as Schalke coach after a poor run of form.

'The Royal Blues' are rock bottom after losing their first two games of the season to Bayern München (8-0) and Werder Bremen (1-3).
