Leverkusen right-back Santiago Arias suffers horror ankle injury

Santiago Arias is facing a long spell on the sidelines after sustaining a serious injury while on international duty.

Bayer Leverkusen will probably have to manage without Santiago Arias for a long while.

The right-back was forced off with a horror ankle injury in the first half of Colombia's 3-0 win over Venezuela.

An official diagnosis is still pending, but the injury will certainly require surgery and a long rehabilitation phase.

Arias only recently joined Leverkusen on loan from Atletico Madrid.
