Milot Rashica could still arrive at Leverkusen, says Rudi Völler

Bayer Leverkusen have not 'written off' their chances of signing Milot Rashica from Werder Bremen, says club boss Rudi Völler.

Bayer Leverkusen managing director Rudi Völler has opened up on the club's failed attempt to sign Milot Rashica on loan from Werder Bremen shortly before the transfer window closed earlier this month.

"We wanted to take him on loan, but Werder wanted to sell him for a long time. It wasn't until the last day that an option came up," Völler said in an interview with Kicker.

"In the end, it was difficult, and we ultimately didn't reach an agreement. It just didn't work out. This was a completely normal procedure, and no one was to blame, even though there were three disappointed parties.

"He could have helped us with his qualities in view of the many games we have to play in a short time. But only under certain conditions," said Völler.

The Leverkusen chief is not ruling out that the 24-year-old could still end up at BayArena.

"One shouldn't forget that in two and a half months, the clubs will be able to make up for it when the transfer window opens again. He hasn't been written off, but he won't just automatically come in January," he said.
