Alphonso Davies is scheduled to make his return from injury in Bayern München's first Bundesliga game against Mainz on January 3, according to Bild.

The 20-year-old left-back has been sidelined since suffering an ankle ligament injury in his side's 5-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt a month ago.

On Monday, Davies was back on the training pitch for the first time since he suffered the injury.

Lucas Hernandez, who has been Bayern's preferred option at left-back this season, sat out of training on Monday due to a pelvic bruising and is a doubt for Wednesday's Champions League clash with RB Salzburg.
