VfL Wolfsburg have confirmed the signing of 18-year-old Aster Vranckx from Belgian side KV Mechelen.

The young central midfielder will join 'Die Wölfe' next summer after putting pen to paper on a contract until 2025.

"We're very pleased that Aster is going to strengthen us from next summer and that we've been able to tie him down long-term," said Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schäfer in a statement.

"He’s a very talented player who became a first-team regular for Mechelen at the age of 17, and he can operate in different roles in midfield. He’s fully on board with the path that we want to follow at VfL and it’s going to be fun working with him and developing him."

Vranckx has made 20 appearances for Mechelen's senior side, racking up four goals and two assists.
