Thomas Müller leads Bayern to narrow win over Freiburg

Thomas Müller scored the winner as Bayern München beat Freiburg 2-1 to increase their lead to four points at the top of the table.
Bayern München bounced back from their DFB-Pokal exit to Holstein Kiel in mid-week as they beat Freiburg 2-1 in the Bundesliga on Sunday.

Bayern were deservedly leading 1-0 thanks to an early goal from Robert Lewandowski until second-half substitute Nils Petersen equalled the score, heading home after a corner in the 62nd minute.

With 15 minutes left, the Bavarians restored their lead when Thomas Müller fired home after being set up by Leroy Sané inside box.

Freiburg then came close to salvaging a draw in injury time, but Nils Petersen was unlucky to see his shot hit the bar.

Thanks to today's win, Bayern are now four points clear of second-placed RB Leipzig at the top of the Bundesliga table.
