Eintracht Frankfurt have confirmed the signing of Turkish teenage sensation Ali Akman from second division side Bursaspor on a free transfer. The 18-year-old striker is touted to be one of Turkey’s emerging stars.

His contract was due to expire on June 30, 2021 and Frankfurt pounced on the opportunity to lure him for free. Akman has reportedly penned a four year deal valid from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2025. He will move after the end of the current season.

Playing for Bursaspor this season, Akman has already registered 10 goals and 4 assists in the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish Cup, clocking more than 1,700 minutes in total.

Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director, Fredi Bobic was keen to unveil his new player, stating: “With Ali Akman’s transfer, we have acquired the services of one of Turkish football’s biggest talents. He is a player we want to build and develop over the coming years.

He will be given the time and support he needs from us and we are happy to have a much sought-after young footballer of great ability.”

Andre Silva and Luka Jovic already look like two of Bundesliga’s top strikers up front at the moment, but Ali Akman’s arrival will certainly be a motivating factor for Frankfurt to maintain their good run of form.

Adi Hütter’s Frankfurt are in exceptional form in the Bundesliga, having lost last on 12 December, 2020, in a 2-1 defeat to Wolfsburg. Since then, they have played eight matches – scoring an impressive 22 goals and winning all but two. With a Champions League place in touching distance, Frankfurt will hope to introduce Ali Akman as early as possible and develop him into a world-class striker.
