Bayern confirm Corentin Tolisso has suffered a serious injury

Bayern München have confirmed that Corentin Tolisso is set for a long spell on the sidelines after sustaining a serious injury.
Bayern München have been hit by an injury blow in training with Corentin Tolisso set to be out for several months.

The German champions have announced that the French international has suffered a tendon rupture.

"I spoke with him this morning. He has already had surgery today. It's a bad injury on the front side of his left thigh, a tendon rupture," said FC Bayern coach Hansi Flick ahead of Saturday's Bundesliga game against Eintracht Frankfurt.

"I feel sorry for him, he was in a lot of pain. He had just showed how much quality he has. I'm more than convinced by him. 'Coco' needs rhythm and he would have got that now. I hope it all went well and we will support him now," added Flick.

It's not the first time Tolisso has suffered a long-term injury during his time at FC Bayern. He missed the most of the 2018/19 season due a cruciate ligament rupture.

The 26-year-old has made 22 appearances for Bayern this season, scoring three goals.
