Bayer Leverkusen have been dealt another injury blow with the news that Timothy Fosu-Mensah has suffered a cruciate ligament tear.

After being forced off towards the end of the first half in Sunday's 1-2 defeat to SC Freiburg, Fosu-Mensah has confirmed the injury to Dutch football news outlet Voetbalzone.

Leverkusen coach Peter Bosz already said straight after the game that he suspected that Fosu-Mensah had injured his cruciate ligament.

Fosu-Mensah is the third Leverkusen player to suffer a cruciate ligament tear this season, with Paulinho and Julian Baumgartlinger already sidelined with similar injuries.
