Hertha without Cunha and Khedira "unless a small miracle occurs"
During a digital media session on Tuesday, Hertha BSC trainer Pal Dardai conceded he'll likely be without Matheus Cunha and Sami Khedira against Dortmund on Saturday.
As always, Hertha's head-coach kept it straight and the to the point when speaking to German reporters on Tuesday afternoon. Neither attacking talisman Matheus Cunha nor the club's emotional "ringer" Sami Khedira trained with the team on Tuesday.
Both players struggle with muscle pulls and will not be available this weekend, in Dardai's words, "unless a small miracle occurs". The 44-year-old trainer also cast doubt on whether on-loan winger Nemanja Radonjic might be ready in time to face Dortmund.
"He's perhaps a similar case to that of Jordan Torunarigha last week," Dardai said his on-loan Serbian, "I wanted to select [Jordan], but he was very professional and told me he wasn't 100 percent yet. I'll ask [Nemanja] the question on Friday."
Khedira has been absent since recording a crucial assist off the bench in a 1-1 draw against Stuttgart in round 21, then disappointing in his return to the starting XI one week later. The 33-year-old was given a slight rap on the knuckles for not wearing a face-mask whilst watching the team's victory from the stands this weekend.
