RB Leipzig have confirmed the signing of 19-year-old Dutch forward Brian Brobbey on a free transfer from Ajax.

Brobbey will make the switch to Leipzig in the summer after putting pen to paper on a four-year deal.

"RB Leipzig is a great club and is playing another super season. Julian Nagelsmann is a young and very good coach from whom I can still learn a lot. The team is solid and exudes great cohesion. I'm really looking forward to meeting the team and, of course, want to do my part to ensure that the club continues to be so successful," commented Brobbey.

The young forward turned down several other top clubs to join Leipzig, according to sporting director Markus Krösche.

"Brian Brobbey fits RB Leipzig's profile perfectly as a young, very flexible and assertive player. He recently showed at Ajax that he can compete at international level. Since Brian had several offers from other top European clubs, we are even more pleased that he ultimately chose us. We will have a lot of fun with him in the upcoming season," said the RB Leipzig boss.

The Dutch U19 international has found the net four times in 11 games for Ajax's senior side.
