Accordingly, this morning's training session has been canceled, and the German players have been told to stay in their rooms for now.
Whether Hoffmann's positive test will have further consequences is unclear at this point.
Germany's encounter with Iceland is scheduled to take place tonight at 20.45 CET.
Update: The German Football Association (DFB) has confirmed that a member of the squad has tested positive for coronavirus.
"This is of course bitter news so shortly before the game - for the coaches and the entire team. But we are confident that this will be the only case, as we have been very disciplined in implementing all hygiene measures so far. Of course, we will implement all the requirements of the authorities," said Germany general manager Oliver Bierhoff.
