RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann has played down speculation linking him with Bayern München.

In a remarkable interview with Sky on Tuesday, former German international Lothar Matthäus claimed that Bayern have opened talks with Nagelsmann about the possibility of him taking over as coach from Hansi Flick, who has been linked with the job as Germany coach.

However, speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Nagelsmann dismissed Matthäus' claims.

"There were and are no talks with FC Bayern. I have no idea where Lothar got this information from," insisted Rangnick.

"Of course, this also applies to my representatives. There have been no talks between them and Bayern either."

Like Flick, Nagelsmann has two years left on his current deal.
