Edin Terzic has extended his contract with Dortmund, reveals Watzke

Edin Terzic has signed a new long-term contract with Borussia Dortmund, according to club CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke.
Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has revealed that interim coach Edin Terzic has extended his contract with the club.

From next season, the 38-year-old will serve as an assistant for Marco Rose, who will arrive from Gladbach.

"Edin has the key in his hand. He signed a new long-term deal with us a few weeks ago with a clear understanding of how things will continue," Watzke told ARD following Dortmund's 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig in the DFB-Pokal final on Saturday.

"We are totally convinced by Marco, and this was always agreed with Edin very transparently. There are no problems at all."

Should Terzic want to take a head coaching job at a different club, Dortmund would be prepared to sit down with him again.

"If he wants to do something else, then we'll talk to him," said Watzke.
