Schalke confirm long list of departures

Schalke 04 have announced that 10 players will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

Relegated Bundesliga side Schalke 04 have confirmed that 10 players will be departing the club after the final game of the 2020/21 season on Saturday.


Benjamin Stambouli and Bastian Oczipka are both set to leave as their contracts are not valid for the 2. Bundesliga while deals with Steven Skrzybski, Alessandro Schöpf, Shkodran Mustafi and Nabil Bentaleb will expire.

Additionally, Schalke say goodbye to loanees Goncalo Paciencia, Frederik Rønnow, Kilian Ludewig and William, who will return to their respective parent clubs.

According to Kicker, the Gelsenkirchen side are still hopeful of renewing the expiring contracts of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Sead Kolasinac.

Besides the 10 players, strength and conditioning coach Quirin Löppert, nutrition advisor Dr. Weibke-Maria Schlusemann and physiotherapist Dennis Schmitz will be departing the club this summer.
