Dortmund seal Kobel signing

Gregor Kobel has completed his move to Dortmund.
Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Gregor Kobel from VfB Stuttgart.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper has signed a contract until 2026.

“We’re delighted that Gregor Kobel has decided to join Borussia Dortmund. We believe he has great potential. Gregor’s singlemindedness, his ambition and his consistency are remarkable; his goalkeeping profile is a good fit for us," said Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc.

After putting pen to paper on his Dortmund contract, Kobel commented:

"Borussia Dortmund is one of the biggest and best-known football clubs in the world. A club whose objective is to compete for the league title and the DFB-Pokal, as well as play in the Champions League, every year. It makes me proud to be able to play for BVB. I want to make my contribution to Dortmund’s future successes.

"You can see on the pitch that I’m an emotional guy. Being out on the pitch in front of more than 80,000 fans after the pandemic, in that atmosphere – I’m already looking forward to it now!"
