Kicker report: Arminia set to lose out on Doan

Arminia Bielefeld are set to miss out on catalyst Ritsu Doan with the Ostwestfalen club unable to pay his release clause.

"There is no chance and Ritsu will be leaving us."

The words of Arminia's sporting chief Samir Arabi in Thursday's Kicker will not be a good sign for Bielefeld's chances of survival next season.

The release clause, which stands at around 5 million euros, is just too much for Bielefeld to conjure up in the current climate.

The Japanese international was a shining light in the Arminia team, scoring five goals and assisting twice. He played every single game for Arminia in the Bundesliga too.

As reported earlier, since the season finished Doan has been top priority for Arminia to sign permanently, it just won't work out. It's yet to be seen how significant this could be for their chances of survival next term.
