Germany won the European Under-21 Championship after a 1-0 win over Portugal at Stožice Stadion in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Stefan Kuntz's team were in the final for the third time in a row and found redemption after their 2-1 loss to Spain two years ago.

Lukas Nmecha scored the winner four minutes into the second half, finishing off a great team move. The striker latched on to a pass from Ridle Baku, took the ball around Diego Costa in the Portuguese net and slotted it home.

It's the third time Germany win the European Under-21 Championship, having done it before in 2009 an 2017.
