Report: Stuttgart and Arsenal close to €7 million Mavropanos deal
A potential transfer deal for Argentine striker Nicolas Gonzalez may provide VfB Stuttgart with the liquidity push they need to finalize the purchase of Konstantinos Mavropanos.
German media reported that the loan did not include a purchase clause and that Arsenal's transfer demands of €6-8 million were unlikely to be met. With multiple media reports suggesting that the Swabians are about to net €25-29 million on the sale of striker Nicolas Gonzalez, however, Sven Mislinat might accrue the liquidity to close the stalled deal.
Football.London's Arsenal reporter Chris Wheatley notes online that, just as was the case on the Florian Müller deal earlier in the day, Stuttgart are about to strike a deal precisely in the middle of previous high/low bids.
The Bundesliga and EPL clubs are said to be nearing a €7 million purchase arrangement.
As reported last month, Dinos Mavropanos is not in Mikel Arteta's plans for next season.
