Ginter pinpoints key areas Germany must improve on

Germany have to improve in a number of aspects after their loss to France, states Matthias Ginter.
Germany defender Matthias Ginter sees plenty of room for improvement after his team fell to a 1-0 defeat against France in their Euro 2020 opener two days ago.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Saturday's clash with Portugal, Ginter identified two key areas where Germany must improve.

"We were often missing that decisive pass in the final third and failed to create any golden opportunities. We have to do better and the whole team has to step up," said the Gladbach centre-back.

"Set pieces were on the agenda again in training today. We know that we can and must improve in that regard," he added.

"We've got a feeling of 'now more than ever' - we're looking ahead and are fully focused on Portugal. We're maintaining a positive energy and will go all out for the win on Saturday."

Germany lock horns with Portugal at Allianz Arena in Munich on Saturday at 18:00 CET.
