Report: Valencia set to acquire Hertha's Alderete on one-year loan

Spanish Daily Mundo Deportivo reports that Hertha BSC are close to offloading one of their central defenders on a one-year-loan.
The surplus of central defenders on Hertha trainer Pal Dardai's roster may soon be reduced by one. One of Spain's most reliable sporting dailies reports that Paraguayan international Omar Alderete has agreed to terms with Valencia on contractural arrangements for the coming season.

According to "Mundo Deportivo", the La Liga side wishes to bring the 24-year-old in on a one-year-loan, but the Bundesliga club hasn't yet structured the terms from their side. One assumes that little would stand in the way of such an arrangement. Alderete's 2020/21 campaign was marred by errors and he attracted criticism from his head-coach.

After arriving in the German capital on deadline day this past October, Alderete struggled to maintain a regular role in Hertha's starting XI. He made 15 starts over the course of the year.
