Mainz 05 sporting director Christian Heidel has revealed that Robin Quaison is expected to leave the club on a free transfer this summer.

The Swedish international is out of contract and is heading for the exit door.

"We can't extend every contract. That's why there was a decision to let Robin go now," Heidel told Bild.

According to reports, Quaison has agreed personal terms with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq.

Should the 27-year-old change his mind about leaving, however, Heidel would be open to talk.

"If Robin would come now and say he wants to stay after all, then we'll talk."

Quaison joined Mainz from Palermo in January 2017. In total, he has made 130 appearances for 'Die Nullfünfer', scoring 34 goals.
