Germany announce Summer Olympics squad

Nadiem Amiri, Maximilian Arnold and Max Kruse are among the players selected for Germany's Olympics squad.

Germany have revealed their squad for the Summer Olympics, which will take place in the Japanese capital of Tokyo.

Germany U21 coach Stefan Kuntz, who is in charge of the team, was allowed to include three players born before 1 January 1997 in his squad for the tournament and has selected Nadiem Amiri (Bayer Leverkusen), Maximilian Arnold (Wolfsburg) and Max Kruse (Union Berlin) as his over-age players.

Goalkeepers: Florian Müller (VfB Stuttgart), Svend Brodersen (free agent), Luca Plogmann (Werder Bremen).

Defenders: Jordan Torunarigha (Hertha BSC), Benjamin Henrichs (RB Leipzig), Amos Pieper (Arminia Bielefeld), David Raum (TSG Hoffenheim), Felix Uduokhai (FC Augsburg), Josha Vagnoman (Hamburger SV).

Midfielders: Anton Stach (SpVgg Greuther Fürth), Eduard Löwen (VfL Bochum), Niklas Dorsch (KAA Gent), Ismail Jakobs (1. FC Köln), Arne Maier (Hertha BSC), Nadiem Amiri (Bayer 04 Leverkusen), Maximilian Arnold (VfL Wolfsburg).

Strikers: Max Kruse (1. FC Union Berlin), Marco Richter (FC Augsburg), Cedric Teuchert (Union Berlin).
