Reports from Spain have claimed that Valencia are close to acquiring Hertha BSC centre-back Omar Alderete.

In an interview with Kicker, Hertha BSC managing director for sport Fredi Bobic has now confirmed that Alderete has sparked interest from Spain.

However, Hertha have yet to receive a written offer for the 24-year-old, according to Bobic.

"The initial plan is for him to come back to us after the Copa America. That there is interest from Spain is a fact. But there is nothing in writing," said Bobic and added:

"There is a lot of talk and trying, but as long as there is nothing tangible, it brings you nothing."

Hertha signed Alderete from FC Basel in October 2020.
