Bayer Leverkusen have signed 20-year-old old central defender Odilon Kossounou from Club Brugge.

The Ivory Coast international has inked a five-year deal with 'Die Werkself'.

"He is extremely quick, mobile, very strong in the tackle and technically good," commented Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes.

"Odilon Kossounou has made a rapid development as a really young player in the past two years in Belgium.

"He still hasn't exhausted his full potential. Odilon has everything to be able to play an important role in our team in the future."

According to reports from Germany, Leverkusen have paid €23 million to sign the young defender.
