Lucas Alario to miss Leverkusen's season opener

Lucas Alario faces two weeks on the sidelines due to a muscle injury.
Bayer Leverkusen forward Lucas Alario will miss the start of the season after picking up an injury in pre-season.

The Bundesliga outfit announced today that the Argentine striker has suffered a minor muscle fiber tear, which is expected to keep him out for two weeks.

Alario recently put speculation over his Leverkusen future to bed by extending his contract until 2024.

Leverkusen open their 2021/22 campaign against FC Lokomotive Leipzig in the first round of the DFB-Pokal on Saturday.
