André Silva opens up on his targets for the season

André Silva has talked about his expectations for his first season in a Leipzig shirt.
RB Leipzig newcomer André Silva has outlined his goals for the upcoming 2021/22 campaign.

Silva has completed a €23 million switch to Red Bull Arena after he found the net 28 times in 32 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt last season.

Asked if he should better last season's goal tally now that he's playing for a team that look better on paper, Silva told Sport Bild:

"That's an easy thing to say. In reality, though, it's more difficult. Frankfurt was the first club in my career, where I played more than one season in a row. And the second season was much better because I knew all the routines.

"But in Leipzig, there are now new teammates, a new playing style and a new coach for me. So it's a different situation, and there are no guarantees. But I promise to do my best," added the Portuguese striker.

"I'm in Leipzig to show why RB wanted me and that I can make the team stronger. My first goal is: I want to score a lot of goals at RB and to do my best. If people say at the end of the season that I'm the best in the league, then it must have been a great year."
