Germany's Bild-Zeitung confirms reports surfacing earlier in the day that 21-year-old Josh Sargent is headed to the Isle to join newly promoted Norwich City in the English Premiership. The Missouri native will evidently be joining former Werder Bremen colleague Milot Rashica at Carrow Road for a base transfer fee of around €11 million.

Journalist Roman Unger was able to contact Bremen sporting director Frank Baumann to elicit further comment. Baumann' perceived procrastination when it came to preparing the side for their 2. Budnesliga campaign led the 45-year-executive taking plenty of heat in the German press. Several editorial articles accused Baumann of not adequately utilizing the offseason to complete the necessary sell-offs.

"The sale of Josh contributes to our economic consolidation and is a very important step," Baumann emphasized, "On Thursday evening, a new dynamic arose. Our standards were met by a foreign club. We could have sold off Josh three weeks ago, but under significantly worse [financial] circumstances. We can now re-invest a portion of the transfer fee. We want to present one or two players next week."

Given that Sargent's current market value stands at €8 million in the latest transfermarkt listings, it is true that the Hanseaten were able to complete sell the striker for above market value. Journalist Unger of Bild reports that the American will fly to England for his medical on Sunday.
