BVB boss Sebastian Kehl nevertheless told the local Ruhr Nachrichten that no decision about potentially taking either player with the team to Freiburg would be made until the squad prepares to board the bus tomorrow.
"It will be decided on Friday to what extent it makes sense to take them with us to Freiburg or have them continue to work in Dortmund," Kehl told the newspaper.
According to German footballing magazine Kicker, Meunier's case of COVID was actually a rather symptomatic one. His use is thus rather unlikely.
Both Kicker and Ruhr Nachrichten confirm that Thorgan Hazard will continue to be unavailable for the weekend league encounter. The 28-year-old has not returned to the training pitch yet and sources close to the club report that the medical staff aren't prepared to test his ankle problems until next week at the earliest.
