Borussia Dortmund coach Marco Rose has praised Nico Schulz for his performances this season.

The 28-year-old has struggled since his €25.5 million move from Hoffenheim since 2019, but has been called upon to fill in on the left side of defense while Raphael Guerreiro has been out injured.

And, clearly, Rose has been very impressed with what he has seen from the defender.

"The guys are doing a very good job so far. I'm not a fan of singling out individual players. But if you look at the development of Nico Schulz, he's done very, very well," said the Dortmund coach ahead of Saturday's clash with Freiburg.

"He has taken a big step. The way he trains shows that he is more confident, and as a result thereof, he has been putting in some great performances."

Raphael Guerreiro returned to team training on Friday, but Schulz is expected to start once more against Freiburg.
