At a Tuesday presser before the trip, the 33-year-old FCB head-coach confirmed that Manuel Neuer, Robert Lewandowski, and Leon Goretzka would remain behind. Nagelsmann revealed that in Neuer's case, he remained concerned about his first-choice keeper's lingering injury.
For the other two stars, it remains merely a matter of managing the workload ahead of the coming international break. Kingsley Coman and Lucas Hernandez--both of whom returned to training today--will also stay in Bavaria to continue to rehab injuries.
Aware that the journalists questioning him sought any hint about his potential squad selections against a partially amateur team, Nagelsmann toyed with his questioners a bit.
"I know who will be playing," the young trainer noted half-pejoratively, "I could also tell you who will be playing, but I'm not going to. I don't want to make it easy for an opponent or for you [the journalists]. You guys can wrack your brains over it until tomorrow."
