Confirmed: Young Danish attacker signs in Swabia through 2026
VfB Stuttgart confirmed the purchase of Denmark U21 international Wahid Faghir on Tuesday evening.
Teenage attacking talent Wahid Faghir of Danish first division side Vejle Boldklub arrives in Stuttgart for a reported transfer fee of €4.5 million. The Baden-Württemberg club confirmed the signing on Tuesday evening, announcing that Faghir had signed a contract through 2026.
According to German footballing magazine Kicker, the deal also includes bonuses for Faghir's Danish developmental club.
"Wahid is a player we've been watching for some time," VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat said in a statement, "His development thus far has been very encouraging and we see a lot of potential in him."
Faghir recently played against Germany in the UEFA U21 European Championship, scoring a memorable goal shortly after coming on as a substitute in the quarterfinal loss.
Stuttgart announced that Faghir, having broken off training with the Danish U21s to attend his Stuttgart medical, would immediately return to his international squad and join his new club team after the break.
