Eintracht Frankfurt’s elaborate method of blocking Filip Kostic’s move

Serbian winger Filip Kostic saw his deadline day move to Lazio collapse at the final hour. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Eintracht tried a fancy way of stopping the transfer, and it has left Kostic furious.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio were given a fake email address by Eintracht to submit their offer. An email address that was not connected to the club whatsoever and Kostic was told that no offer had come through.

Frankfurt wanted an offer of €10m plus €3m in bonuses and Lazio sent their email proposal back to Frankfurt with a €10m + €2m offer, but Frankfurt did not receive this offer because it was sent on the fake email address.

It was only until the day afterwards when Kostic was made aware of the real reason that his move to Lazio fell through. His agent Fali Ramadani got hold of the fake email address that Lazio were sent to send an offer back and the agent took screenshots of the email and sent the pictures back to Kostic.

Kostic is reported to be absolutely furious with the club as he had previously stated his intentions to leave Frankfurt, with a desire to join Lazio. The 28-year-old refused to train ahead of Eintracht’s final game before the international break, a 1-1 draw with Arminia Bielefeld, as he wanted to hurry up the process of his transfer. Now the deal has collapsed and Kostic knows why it collapsed, the situation is said to be unrepairable and Kostic is furious at the club. The Serbian winger is under contract at Die Adler for 2 more years, with his contract running out in 2023.
