Mark van Bommel: 'Koen Casteels the best goalkeeper in the Bundesliga with Neuer'
Wolfsburg coach Mark van Bommel sung the praises of Koen Casteels after Tuesday's 0-0 draw with LOSC Lille in the Champions League.
Koen Casteels is the best goalkeeper in the Bundesliga alongside Manuel Neuer, according to Wolfsburg coach Mark van Bommel.
"Koen has improved every year," van Bommel told UEFA.com after Tuesday's 0-0 draw with Lille in the Champions League, which saw Casteels keep his fourth clean sheet in six games this season.
"He's moved up another level. With Manuel [Neuer] he’s the best goalkeeper in the Bundesliga," added the Dutch coach.
Van Bommel admitted he was happy to take a point in France, especially after Wolfsburg centre-back John Anthony Brooks was sent off in the 63rd minute.
"It was a tough 90 minutes. When you play 35 minutes with ten men away from home, you have to be happy with a point," said the Wolfsburg coach.
