Stuttgart tie Stergiou down to permanent deal

VfB Stuttgart have made Leonidas Stergiou's loan deal permanent.

Leonidas Stergiou has joined VfB Stuttgart on a permanent basis from St. Gallen.

The Swabian outfit have reportedly triggered a €2 million purchase option in the defender's loan deal to sign him on a contract until 2028.

“Leo has handled the step up to the Bundesliga very well and underlined his value to the team on multiple occasions," said Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth.

“We’ve been just as impressed by his footballing abilities as his professional attitude. Leo has always been there when we needed him and continued to work hard on his development, even when he wasn’t playing much. We’re pleased that Leo will continue to wear the VfB shirt in the future.”
