Borussia Dortmund have identified Hertha BSC midfielder Kennet Eichhorn as a “very hot candidate” for a summer transfer, according to Kicker.

However, the Black and Yellows are far from alone in their interest in the highly-rated 16-year-old, who is reportedly on the radar of several European top clubs.

Nevertheless, Kicker reports that “industry insiders” believe Dortmund have a “decent chance” of winning the race for the player, who is not strongly inclined towards a move abroad.

Unlike rivals such as Bayer Leverkusen or RB Leipzig, BVB are virtually certain of qualifying for next season’s Champions League, which could prove to be an advantage.

According to reports, Eichhorn has a release clause of around €12 million in his contract.
