After he himself nixed a move to the Isle last autumn, Nadiem Amiri may get his sought-after chance to play for an EPL side. Germany's "Sport Bild" tabloid reports that Aston Villa scouts were spotted keeping tabs on Amiri during Mainz's 3-1 league win over Dortmund just prior to the international break.

Amiri's conduct during a failed transfer to EFL Championship side Leeds last year left him a pariah on Bayer 04 Leverkusen's roster. A winter transfer to FSV Mainz 05 nevertheless accorded the 28-year-old a chance to raise his stock with relegation-threatened FSV Mainz 05.

Amiri quickly became a pivotal player for Mainz. His leadership skills in open play and sharp prowess on set piece enabled him to raise his estimated market worth from a low of €4 million last January back up to €9 million in the latest transfermarkt listings.

Despite the fact that he enjoys favorable status with the Rheinhessen, Amiri may be tempted to consider a move abroad in order to enhance his German national team prospects. The five-times-capped senior German international hasn't featured in the Nationalmannschaft for four years.

The German tabloid reports that Mainz might consider letting Amiri go for a price-tag of around €10 million. Amiri has scored five goals and contributed eight assists across all competitions since joining the Pfälzer ten months ago.
