Bayern Munich were beaten 5-4 in a thrilling Champions League semi-final first-leg clash with Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night.

Here are our Bayern Munich player ratings from the game:

Bayern Munich starting XI player ratings vs. PSG:

GK: Manuel Neuer - 4/10

Not a great night for the Bayern goalkeeper. While he was far from to blame for all the goals, he couldn’t produce the decisive saves Bayern so desperately needed. At times, he was uncharacteristically inaccurate with his distribution.

RB: Josip Stanisic - 4/10

Struggled against Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and couldn’t keep up when the Georgian drifted inside for PSG’s equaliser. Offered some promising forward runs, but lacked the final quality in the decisive moments.

CB: Dayot Upamecano - 6/10

While he carries some responsibility for Bayern conceding so many goals, Upamecano also made several important defensive interventions. Scored a crucial goal in the second half.

CB: Jonathan Tah - 5/10

Made no major individual errors, but was heavily tested and had occasional difficulties against PSG’s quick and efficient attack.

LB: Alphonso Davies ('46) - 5/10

Started promisingly with some good defensive actions and used his pace wisely. Ended up conceding a penalty when the ball was unfortunately blasted onto his leg and then his arm, before being taken off at halftime.

CDM: Joshua Kimmich - 6/10

Not as dominant as he can be, but was tidy in possession and delivered some excellent set pieces – including the assist for Upamecano’s goal.

CDM: Aleksandar Pavlovic - 5/10 ('90+3)

Made some careless misplaced passes early on that could have been costly. Later provided the assist for Olise’s 2-2 goal and generally grew into the game.

RW: Michael Olise - 7.5/10

As usual, highly influential and difficult for PSG to contain. Played the decisive pass to Luis Díaz in the move leading to the penalty and Bayern’s first goal. Missed a huge chance to make it 2-0, but redeemed himself by smashing home the equaliser for 2-2. Could have been more efficient after the break.

CAM: Jamal Musiala - 4/10 ('78)

A difficult night overall. Failed to track João Neves for PSG’s second goal and often made the wrong decisions in the final third. Improved slightly after the break, but it never truly clicked for him.

LW: Luis Diaz - 9/10

Made relentless, energetic runs and was a constant problem for the PSG defence in the first half. Won a penalty after being brought down just as he was about to shoot. Later scored a brilliant goal to make it 5-4 after getting the better of Marquinhos.

ST: Harry Kane - 8/10

Typically composed from the penalty spot. Played Olise through shortly afterwards, only for the Frenchman to miss a big opportunity. Drifted in and out of the game at times, but produced a brilliant assist for Díaz’s 5-4 goal when it mattered most.

Substitutes:

Konrad Laimer ('46) - 5/10

Came on with his usual aggression and work rate and gave Bayern fresh energy after the break. Was caught too high up the pitch, allowing Achraf Hakimi to run in behind and provide the assist for Kvaratskhelia.

Leon Goretzka ('78) – N/A

Nicolas Jackson ('90+3) – N/A
