Although the official word from Bayern Munich officials is that the club won't be active in the January transfer window, that could change.
According to sources at Sky Germany, Bayern are definitely assessing the market behind the scenes and in contact with player agents.
They're also considering whether there might be a loan option, or whether they could sign someone permanently in January.
However, if they are to purchase someone outright, it would be a player they had originally intended to bring in during the summer.
The position causing Bayern the biggest headache, based on the pay-TV channel's information, is the left wing area.
Particularly because they currently don't have an adequate replacement for Luis Díaz and that's the key problem in this area.
For example, Bayern are still in contact and holding talks with the representatives of Manchester United gem JJ Gabriel.
Ultimately, however, the current favourites for the signing of the player are La Liga giants Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.
As things stand, the plan is for him to join a new club in January. Manchester United have not given up on keeping him
